Felix Machado won his first and only world title in July of 2000 on his third attempt.  Machado is a very gritty, hard-nosed fighter and wins many of his fights because of his determination.  Not rated very high on many people's list of best Junior Bantamweights, Machado still has a ways to go, but after only 28 fights, he has done a good job thus far making a name of himself.  Recently, Machado had a major setback losing a razor-thin spilt decision to late sub Luis Perez.  Machado's right eye was completely closed and after the fight x-rays reveled he had 3 broken bones on the right side of his face.  Look for Machado to get healed up and get a rematch and avenge the loss as he wasn't prepared for the late substitute.
